Romanello chases second WPT title

Romanello chases second WPT title

Saturday, 14 April 2012

Just 21 players are left at WPT Vienna but amongst that number are two players looking for their second WPT title. Roberto Romanello and Eugene Katchalov will have their work cut out making it WPT title number two, returning as they do near the bottom of the chip counts.

The man to beat going into the penultimate day in the Austrian capital is Goswin Siemsen who jumped into the chip lead just before the close by elimination Yevgeniy Timoshenko. Also riding high are Morten Christensen, Tristan Wade and Ben Wilinofsky.

Chris Moorman's tournament ended in disappointment. The online legend started the day second in the chip counts but ended up busting out early on and missing the money, a fate suffered by David Vamplew and Ben Vinson who was the unfortunate bubble boy.

The action resumes this lunchtime.

The chip leaders are as follows:

1. Goswin Siemsen – 1,193,000
2. Morten Christensen – 1,057,000
3. Norbert Szecsi  - 1,022,000
4. Ognjen Sekularac – 994,000
5. Tristan Wade – 825,000
6. Ben Wilinofsky – 752,000
7. Andrew Badecker – 735,000
8. Marko Neumann – 545,000
9. Wilhelm Fuhrer – 520,000
10. Jurgen Reicht – 506,000

Also Roberto Romanello 340,000 and Eugene Katchalov 287,000.
