Rhys Jones Tops GUKPT London Day 1B

The first leg of the 2013 GUKPT season has proved to be a biggie with a total of 397 players buying in over the two opening flights at the Vic to almost double the £200,000 guarantee.

Of the 224 players who took part in day 1B it was Rhys Jones who made the biggest impression, building up a stack of 149,775. In hot pursuit were Andy Afstathiou 137,650 and the winner of February's Genting Big Game, Patryk Slusarek 134,250.


As with day 1A, plenty of notable names enjoyed a good opening flight including BlackBelt Poker's Kevin Williams 115,100, 2010 World Heads Up Championship runner up Leon Louis 78,650, Jack Ellwood 74,000, Sky Poker's Carlo Citrone 69,400 and WPT South Africa winner Jerome Bradpiece 67,075.


Further back are the likes of IveyPoker's John Eames 28,000, WSOP bracelet winner Craig McCorkell 27,925 and Bluff regular Ben Jackson18,575.


38 players will make the money with the winner set to walk away £103,240 to the good.
