Rettenmaier Tops Global Poker Index

Friday, 4 January 2013

There's a new face at the top of the Global Poker Index rankings with Marvin Rettenmaier the man in possession of the number one spot. The German, whose big wins in 2012 included WPT World Championship, WPT Merit Cyprus Classic and the EPT Prague High Roller, replaces Dan Smith who held the top position in the rankings from 29th October.

Rettenmaier is in exalted company in the number one spot with only Smith, Jason Mercier, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Erik Seidel having previously held the honour.

The other big movers in the first rankings of 2013 are Joseph Cheong (+5 to 6th), Stephen O'Dwyer (+3 to 7th) and Roberto Romanello (+5 to 10th).

Closer to home, Romanello tops the UK rankings followed by Chris Brammer, Toby Lewis, JP Kelly and David Vamplew. Sam Razavi's recent hot run in Asia has seen him move from 10th to 6th with Zimnan Ziyard also moving up four places to 7th.
