The countdown to next week's Irish Open continues apace and even though the official payment gateway shuts today, it's still possible to buy in direct via the new holding tank in the paddypowerpoker.com client. Just open up the client, click on 'Irish Open 2012' and then 'Direct Buy In' to register for the tournament.

If €3,500 is a bit steep on the bankroll then there are still plenty of opportunities to qualify via the site's Last Chance Saloon satellite series. A variety of tournaments start at 8pm every evening until Wednesday 4th April with a total of 45 seats to be won. The full schedule cane be found here.

Tournament organisers have also confirmed that a special Irish Poker Open Live Stream will be up and running throughout the tournament with American WSOP and WPT finalist Dan O'Brien joining regular host Emmet Kennedy on commentary duties. Viewers can expect plenty of special guest appearances from the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Neil Channing and Phil Hellmuth.

Paddy Power, communications manager at the site, said, "The excitement is building and we truly believe this is going to be one of the most exciting Irish Open's in its 30 year history. We've more big names, the best live streaming, scores of betting markets for everyone to have a little dabble in, and of the course the legendary Irish Open hospitality will be there in abundance."

"With less than a week to go, if you haven't won your seat yet, we've got the Last Chance Saloon with 45 seats to give away. Perhaps you could be the next Niall Smyth who spun a €10 each way bet on the horses into €650,000 when he won the event last year!”

The Irish Open takes place at Dublin's Burlington Hotel from 6-9 April. Qualify online at paddypowerpoker.com with a first deposit bonus of up to $2,000. Sign up here.
