Record breaking pot in Million Dollar Cash Game

Record breaking pot in Million Dollar Cash Game

Monday, 21 September 2009

Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey have contested a record-breaking pot in Full Tilt’s Million Dollar Cash game. The huge hand came at the end of a 20-hour session with only Durrr, Ivey and Patrik Antonius still at the table.

With blinds at $1,000/$2,000 with a $200 ante Durrr raised from the button. Ivey in the small blind re-raised, Antonius in the big blind folded and Durrr called. Ivey bet out $40,000 into the Qc5c3d flop and Durrr flat called. The turn brought a 4h, Ivey bet out again and Durrr re-raised to $240,000. After giving it some serious thought, the November Nine finalist pushed. Durrr called instantly revealing 6h7h for the nut straight leaving Ivey’s Ac2h straight drawing dead.

This wasn’t the only massive hand that Durrr was involved in. He’d earlier lost a $500,000 pot to Patrik Antonius after the Finn’s pocket kings cracked his pocket aces. The big loser of the night was Ziigmund who lost $1.3m in some fearsome PLO action.

Durrr now holds the record for the two largest pots in televised poker history. Last year cracked Barry Greenstein’s pocket aces to take down a pot of $919,000.

The Full Tilt Million Dollar Cash game will be televised on Sky Sports in January 2010.
