Having fought off competition from 431 players and a final table that could have gone any way, Victor Ramdin can now proudly state that he is the champion of the Foxwoods Poker Classic. In order to get his hands on the top prize of $1,331,889 though, he had to see off the challenge of the tournament’s chip leader Ed Jordan, who failed to capitalise on his great position going onto the final table.
There was also the small matter of dealing with self-styled internet poker guru Alex “Yahtzem” Jacob, who Ramdin needed to defeat in order to claim 1st prize and a seat at the WPT championship at the Bellagio. It certainly wasn’t easy going though, with Jacob holding chip lead when they went into heads up play. However, Ramdin’s A-J saw off Jacob’s K-J, whose bank balance immediately looked in bad shape. Now it’s onwards to the WPT championship for Ramdin.
