The Dominican Republic may not trip off the tongue as a hotbed of poker but there are half a million very good reasons why a host of top players will be heading there next week.

The 2nd Annual Punta Cana Poker Classic takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino from 8th to 13th November and will feature a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000.

"We're very excited about this year's event," said a PCPC organizer. "We've got every last detail prepared and we're ready to put on the best poker tournament the Caribbean has ever seen."

One big name who is definitely looking forward to the trip to the Dominican Republic is Tatjana Pasalic. "I am looking forward to hanging out with my fellow team mates, Bodog qualifiers and getting my tan on and having fun playing poker." said the Bodog pro.

Qualifiers who earned a $3,500 package can look forward to five days of complete luxury and relaxation, not to mention the $1,500+$150 tournament entry, golf, spas and tours of the island.

Players looking to join them can still do so courtesy of last minute packages which are available from www.puntacanaclassic.com.
