Prime time on British television is about to get its first dose of poker in history, when the World Poker Tour airs at 10.00pm this Friday on ITV4. Both series I and II have been licensed by ITV4, after the US series, which aired 16 international poker tournaments, was a hit on American television.
The show will be hosted by Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patton and Shana Hiatt and viewers will be able to see players’ cards, filmed with thirteen ‘WPT Cams.’
CEO of World Poker, Steve Lipscomb says; “We are very happy to be working with ITV4. Now, with the poker craze sweeping the UK, anybody will be able to tune in and learn a lot about poker from our show as well as be entertained.”
ITV4’s Channel Editor, Steve Arnell, says the decision to air the World Poker Tour will be an important addition to ITV4. “We have seen what the show has done for broadcasters in the U.S. and abroad. It has developed a large and devoted fan base worldwide.”
