Following the phenomenal success of the European Poker Tour (EPT), Pokerstars.com has announced that a new event has been added to the schedule for Season Three.
The Dortmund EPT tournament, which is scheduled to take place from March 8 to 11 2007, will become the first EPT event to be staged in Germany. The four-day, €5,000 buy-in event will be capped at 400 players and will be televised as part of the EPT TV series. The pinnacle, a no-limit Texas Hold’em tournament, will take place at the Hohensyburg Casino, Dortmund.
EPT director John Duthie has been planning an EPT event in Germany for several months. 'There are not that many venues in Germany with the space and facilities required to host an EPT tournament, but Casino Hohensyberg in Dortmund is an outstanding casino and comfortably meets the high standards required,' he said.
'Poker players will be pleased to hear that there will be a full schedule of tournament activities alongside the main event, and cash games will also be available,” Duthie added.
Qualifiers for the Dortmund EPT are now up and running on the PokerStars.com website.
