Day 1b of the EPT Prague Main Event was something of an autograph hunter’s heaven. Some of the best players in Europe have turned out in the Czech capital to fight for first place and the €708,400 prize.

Day 1b of the EPT Prague Main Event was something of an autograph hunter’s heaven. Some of the best players in Europe have turned out in the Czech capital to fight for first place and the €708,400 prize.
The names include both live game and online stars: Dario Minieri, Bertrand Grospellier and Steve Devlin are the leading representatives from the virtual tables, whilst the live pros are fully represented as well. The likes of Juha Helppi, EPT Dublin winner Reuben Peters, EPT Warsaw champion Peter Jepsen and the lady of the moment Annette Obrestad have all bought into the €4,700 event.
Barny Boatman also bought in, but is on his way home already after his pocket queens were cracked by KTo on a king-high board. Annette Obrestad is also another who now has more time to take in some of the Czech culture. After an opening raise from Steve Devlin, Obrestad reraised and got a caller from a player in middle position. The flop of 2d-2h-4c was check called by the player in mid-position, and he also checked the Jc on the turn. Obrestad fired again, with another smooth call. The river brought the 8h, and after the unknown player checked the river to her, Annette moved all in, only to be called by the player’s pocket kings. Other big names to fall to the wayside are Minieri, Helppi, Jepsen and Age Spets.
Overall it was a good day for the online stars, with Devlin ending the day at the top of the Day 1b charts with 110,000. Also joining him for Day 2 will be Grospellier and other online pros Alec Torelli and Chris Moorman.
