PokerStars.com has launched a new video site at PokerStars.tv dedicated to broadcasting live webcasts of major events along with a unique collection of poker footage.
The site is currently undergoing beta-testing and includes a video tutorial narrated by Canadian professional poker player Daniel Negreanu giving an overview of the site and how members can use and access material. Users will find sub-groups for major events such as the European Poker Tour and channels dedicated to each Team PokerStars.com professional player under the site’s Channels tab at the top of the site along with live-play videos, instructional comments, interviews and behind-the-scenes action for each competitor.
There are also categories such as Online Action, Sweat the Hand and Fun Stuff and the site contains a searchable database of filters with videos categorised player, event or type of hand.
The site has been compared to a PokerStars.com-themed version of online video libraries such as YouTube and has over 500 videos available in English with registered users able to e-mail video links to other players or embed a code for a given video on other websites. Registered users at PokerStars.tv can also personalize their favourites by creating their own video ‘channel’ and selecting their preferences.
Finally, alternate live feeds from tournaments such as the recent European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final are to be available in six languages, English, German, Dutch, French, Italian and Spanish.
