Fixed-limit games might not enjoy the same kind of popularity as their no-limit equivalents but this week PokerStars is trying to reignite the community’s interest in such games.
Starting today the Isle of Man-licensed site will be running a series of promotions all based around the somewhat more sedate poker variant.By depositing $20 or more using the code ‘LIMIT’, players will be able to claim three tournament tickets enabling them to take part in a selection of fixed-limit events being held over the coming week.Moreover, players can earn 50 percent more VPPs and FPPs in a variety of fixed-limit cash games and tournaments during dedicated happy hours set at 4am, 10am, 4pm and 10pm New York time.Finally, PokerStars will be sprinkling in a number of fixed-limit tournaments throughout the week including hourly $1.50 fixed-limit hold‘em events and a special $20,000 fixed-limit tournament on July 13 from 2pm.
Juicy Stakes and Intertops Poker will hold their special May Day online poker tournament with a guaranteed $2,000 in the prize pool on May 1 and players are being offered the chance to qualify from Monday to April 30 via a series of satellites.
