PokerStars has reportedly bought a minority share in the recently refurbished London casino, The Hippodrome. No figures have been revealed but according to a report in The Sunday Times, the deal values the Leicester Square venue at £100m.

The casino is the brainchild of bingo hall magnates Simon Thomas and his father Jimmy who have spent millions on restoring the Grade II listed building to its former glory. It reopened its doors three months ago following a £40m facelift.

The casino is currently home to a small poker room called The Top Deck which offers round-the-clock cash games. In addition the venue also features two further gambling floors, five bars, a restaurant, four private dining rooms and a 200-seat cabaret theatre.
