PokerStars buy leading mobile development firm

PokerStars buy leading mobile development firm
Friday, 27 November 2009

The PokerStars software client isn’t currently available on mobile phones but that could change as the site has bought mobile gaming software development firm Cecure Gaming.

Cecure, which was founded in 2000, has previously operated mobile poker gaming technology for the World Poker Tour and Ladbrokes Poker Million but was put into administration in earlier this year due to a ‘weak customer recruitment strategy in the difficult prevailing economic climate’.

The precise details of the deal haven’t been released but administrators Cavendish Corporate Finance were very pleased with the arrangements. Paul Herman from Cavendish said, “Accessing buyers and investors in the gaming market is notoriously difficult and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to meet and negotiate with many of the leading domestic and international players”.
