PokerStars announce SCoOP 2010 schedule

Tuesday, 23 February 2010

Last year PokerStars’ Spring Championship of Online Poker, featuring low/medium/high buy-in events was a huge success with Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier lighting up the series with two wins.

The online poker giants have now announced the schedule for the 2010 run – it’s bigger, better and badder with a massive $36,000,000 guaranteed including three final main events with prize pools of $1m, $3m and $5m.

Each event has a small, medium and high stakes tournament. For example, the first tournament is a 6-max NLHE affair with re-buys. Entries are $5.50, $55 or $550. Which you play depends entirely on the size of both your bankroll and your balls.

The full schedule can be viewed here but the highlights are thus: three main events, each with a six-figure prize pool. The buy-in is $109, $1,050 or $10,300 and should see some talent at every level.

Overall, three levels of 33 events will be running across the two-week period. The overall SCoOP guarantee is $36m but given the recent success of the $4m guaranteed Sunday Million, expect it to beat that by a long shot.
Satellites to all levels of event are running now at PokerStars.
