There’s definitely something to be said for the power of aggressive marketing. After just four years in the business, Poker Stars has just signed up its 5 millionth player thanks to some high profile TV advertising during major poker tournaments.

There’s definitely something to be said for the power of aggressive marketing. After just four years in the business, Poker Stars has just signed up its 5 millionth player thanks to some high profile TV advertising during major poker tournaments. Well, that and a new weekly game that allows players to win part of a guaranteed $1 million prize pool. Not only is this mightily impressive, but there’s also the small matter of half of those 5 million joining only within the past year.
It’s here that their ads have come in, each one boasting that Poker Stars is home to the last three WSOP champions. This is helped largely by the fact that they send more players to the WSOP then any other source, around 19% of the field. An eye-catching statistic if ever there was one. Having dealt over 5 billion hands since 2001, it would be a fair bet that Poker Stars is only going to grow in the next few years as the game becomes ever more popular.
