PokerStars & Full Tilt Could Offer Sports Betting

Friday, 14 February 2014

The Rational Group, the company behind PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, might be getting a facelift in the coming months if plans for a new sportsbook come to fruition.

Despite always being an online poker operator, it seems as though Rational are now looking at the possibility of adding sports betting to its platforms next year.

The news came via a recent article by eGaming Review which suggested the people behind-the-scenes at Full Tilt and PokerStars could integrate an online betting portal into its platforms as early as 2015.

Although the move would be a departure from the norm for the Rational Group, Full Tilt did recently add a casino element (roulette and blackjack) to its gaming lobby, so it seems that sports betting could naturally be the next step.

At present the operator's plans for a new sports betting site are still in an embryonic stage; however, a spokesperson for the company did confirm to eGaming that they are "exploring opportunities to enter global sports betting markets" in order to "enhance [their] online offerings."
