PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague Day 1a report

Tuesday, 14 December 2010

The PokerStars European Poker Tour once again attracted a huge field with almost two hundred players registering for just the opening day of EPT Prague. The field included November Niner Kevin MacPhee, PokerStars pros Luca Pagano and Arnaud Mattern, who won EPT Prague three years ago, as well as defending champion Jan Skampa.

Day 1b begins today with a host of talent expected in the field including Johnny Lodden, Liv Boeree and Marcel Luske. We look forward to seeing Dag Palovic, who lost a 75-game $200 Heads-Up Sit n’ Go tournament prop bet to Martin Hruby and will be playing with white hair and the PokerStars spade dyed in.

The leading chip counts at the end of the opening flight were as follows:
Elias Brussianos USA 199,600
Nicolas Babel France 191,200
Ruslan Prydryk Ukraine 181,000
Nikolay Losev Russia 165,000
Fernando Brito Portugal 160,500
Dermot Blain Ireland  153,800
Dominik Nitsche Germany  137,900
Jonathan Weekes UK 134,900
Guillaume Darcourt France 128,700
Orpen Kisacikoglu Turkey 123,700

Last year the field at EPT Prague attracted 586 hopefuls and lead to a €682,000 first prize for Jan Skampa – just over a million dollars at the time. Join us throughout the week for updates on the PokerStars EPT Prague Main Event.
