The PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) is mingling with the Estrellas Poker Tour in Barcelona this week to initiate a new season of high-profile and big-spending tournaments.
The Casino De Barcelona is set to play host to all of the competitive and other activities from August 13 to 25 while a €165 super satellite for seats into the main event of the Estrellas Poker Tour is scheduled for Wednesday from 7pm local time.
The main event for the PokerStars EPT featuring a €5,300 buy-in is to be played from August 19 to 25. German Martin Schleich was the best of last year's record field of 811 starters in Spain and walked away with €850,000 created by a €4.055 million prize pool.
Amid a two-week festival of poker and various side events, this season's first high-roller tournament with a $50,000 buy-in, will run from August 17 to 19. The play will be eight-handed while its price has seen it classified as a Super High Roller tournament and eligible for television coverage.
The PokerStars EPT's two-day, €10,300 buy-in, single reload, high-roller event will also be eight-handed and open for action from August 23. Of interest to players of that ilk will also be a heads-up championship with a €10,000 buy-in from the 22 August in addition to a €2,100 buy-in turbo no-limit hold’em event.
The sister Estrellas Poker Tour is due to provide its very own €2,000 buy-in high-roller event on August 18 lasting for two days.
