PokerStars EPT Day 2 complete, 76 players remain

Friday, 19 February 2010

Of the 243 players that made it through to Day 2 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Copenhagen main event, just 76 remain – those who hit the rail before the money include Day 1a chip leader Andrew Pantling, former actor Michael Greco and PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano.

The tour sponsors have little to fear, though – two of their top tournament players are still well in the running as tournament legend Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and local favourite Peter Eastgate.

The title of chip leader goes to neither of those, despite their strong standings on 243,800 and 302,000 respectively. Hungarian professional Csaba Toth holds that crown by sitting on a stack of 561,900 despite losing a six-figure pot late in the day.

With just 76 players remaining in contention today the bubble is soon to burst as 56 players make the money. The first prize is roughly £400,000 and Day 3 will play down to the final 24 players before deciding a final table on Saturday.

Join us over the weekend to find out who makes the final cut in the PokerStars EPT.
