PokerStars EPT Berlin sees 557-strong Day 1b

The Day1b field for the European Poker Tour event at the Hyatt Hotel in Berlin saw PokerStars attract an enormous field of 557; added to the 386 players from Day 1a this boosts the prize pool to a massive €4,750,000.

A tad under 300 players survived the second flight, meaning a turnout of 484 for Day 2 which begins today. Tu Tuan “Little Buddha” To leads the field overall having racked up an impressive chip count of 212,600 for Day 2.


Team PokerStars pros Marcel Luske, Noah Boeken, Jude Ainsworth, Johnny Lodden, Fatima Moreira de Melo and William Thorson will join him in their pursuit of a €1,000,000 first prize today. Stuart Fox heads the UK challenge with Andrew Feldman, John Kabbaj, Julian Thew and Vicky Coren all still in the running.


EPT legend Mike “Timex” McDonald and fellow PokerStars pro Lex Veldhuis were just two of the big names who didn’t make it that far. They were joined on the rail by almost 200 other players as the field was narrowed down.
The final 144 players will be paid, guaranteed at least €7,000for their troubles before the final table, which will give all nine of the last players at least €50,000.
