PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Prize Pool Announced

PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Prize Pool Announced

Wednesday, 7 January 2009

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, oddly enough a leg of the EPT (geography was never my strong point) has been underway for long enough to whittle down the 1,347-strong field somewhat. Long enough, too, to announce the prize pool distributions.

The $12,674,000 prize pool means 199 of the starting 1,347 players will make the money. The top three finishers will be guaranteed at least $1,000,000 and first place is a staggering three million dollars.

With just over 300 players left, Felipe Ramos held the chip lead after Day 1A; his stack is a mighty 360,000. Day 1B's daddy is Chris Fernandez, a 25-year-old from Toronto who holds 280,000 in chips.

Team PokerStars pros Katja Thater, Humberto Brenes, Alex Gomes, and Andre Akkari all survived Day 1 as well as World Series of Poker 2008 Main Event Champion Peter Eastgate, who has around 70,000 chips.
