PokerStars Baltic Festival returns next month

Tuesday, 25 May 2010

Unfortunately, not everyone is able to make it to Las Vegas for the World Series. For those unable to get to the States but still wanting some serious tournament action you could do worse than consider a trip to the beautiful city of Tallinn for the PokerStars Baltic Festival.

The luxurious Swisshotel will be the venue for the four-day series which runs from 16th to 19th June 2010. The main attraction is of course the €1,500 buy-in Main Event but there will also be a number of yet to be confirmed side events plus sit and go and cash game action.

Briton Thomas Partridge outlasted an international field of 307 runners that to take the €75,000 Main Event first prize with Ville Wahlbeck outrunning Shaun Deeb to take the High Roller event.

2008 WSOP Main Event champion Peter Eastgate was impressed with his trip to Estonia last year saying, “It was a great event last year and I will definitely recommend it to all the players I know.” Eastgate’s fellow teammate William Thorson from Sweden added: “Swissôtel in Tallinn is one of the best venues I have seen during my poker career.”

If you'd like to see what all the fuss is about then qualifiers are currently up and running at PokerStars.
