PokerStars APPT Queenstown Snowfest Day 1b complete

Wednesday, 24 August 2011

The second opening flight of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) from the Sky City Casino in Queenstown, New Zealand, concluded in the wee small hours of this morning and saw a further 28 players join the 20 that made it through via yesterday's Day 1a.

The APPT stop now has a field of 83 players with tomorrow's Day 1c set to add another few tables to Day 2.

The chip leader with Day 1b all said and done is Marcel Schreiner, who managed to bag up 72,600 by the final curtain. However, he is not the overall chip leader as that honour goes to the Day 1a big stacks but he won’t be complaining about his nearly-200BB horde going into Day 2.

Just behind him are local players Matt Yates and Daniel Laidlaw followed by WSOP 2011 23rd place finisher Andrew Hinrichsen. The APPT Sydney champion and online player, Jonathan 'xMONSTERxDONGx' Karamalikis also managed to get a top-ten stack ending Day 1b.
