PokerStars APPT Queenstown Snowfest Day 1a complete

Tuesday, 23 August 2011

The second stop of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) began today at the Sky City Casino in Queenstown, New Zealand, with just 40 players taking to the felt for Day 1a, which will be the first of three opening flights.

The opening action saw locals dominate proceedings with the top three chip counts belonging to Kiwis at day’s end.

Cole Swannack leads the way with 86,050 chips and he certainly has what it takes to go all the way as the New Zealander has an APPT final table under his belt from the Macau event in 2010. However, Koray Turker and New Zealand Poker Open champion Jackson Zheng are right on his tail.

In total, 20 of the 40 players will be returning for Day 2 after the field plays through Days 1b and 1c. Join us throughout the week for updates on the action down under.
