Whilst the vast majority of us would like to think that we are the next Gus Hansen’s or Daniel Negreanu’s, the reality is that a lot of poker players aren’t as smart as they think they are at the felt.

Whilst the vast majority of us would like to think that we are the next Gus Hansen’s or Daniel Negreanu’s, the reality is that a lot of poker players aren’t as smart as they think they are at the felt. Before it had cost the ‘fish’ a lot of hard earned cash to realise that perhaps their career paths lay elsewhere, but now there’s a Poker IQ test at Facebook which might just save us all some misery and money.
The test, which was launched by PokerHeaven in conjunction with Facebook, measures our poker skills using a series of examples of poker situations. In these, you’re heads up, your opponent has moved all in, and you have to decide whether it’s right to pass or call. As the test moves on the situations get progressively harder, and you have three lives before your IQ test is completed.
The good news is that if you are one of the smarter poker players out there, you may win a prize finding out. Every player who answers seven questions correctly is entered into a draw where iPods, plasma TVs and flights can be won. If you’re top of the leader board for the month, you win $500. Even those of us who can get our mates along to take the test can win a prize too, with $250 going to the player who invites the most people along to try the game out.
