Full Tilt Poker is not going to cancel the Moscow Millions tournament in Russia. Instead it has postponed the September 07 event without giving any replacement date.
The announcement from the online poker room’s Dublin office explained that its team of elite players was overbooked, and that should the event take place in September, it would not get the attention it deserves. These dizzying announcements came as a list of other tournaments was spun off:
• WSOP Europe.
• Major Sponsorships In Germany
• The Aussie Millions
• And Other Diary Commitments for Early 08.
The WSOP Europe is a major event kicking off in London September 6thand is the first time the WSOP brand has ventured outside of the US. The Aussie Millions will also keep the Full Tilt pros busy. However, there is some mystery around the other commitments and Full Tilt must have something big in store as pulling out of sponsorship deals is unusual.
However, it has formally recognised the ‘substantial potential’ of the Moscow Millions and the Russian market, and will focus on these when they can get the attention they deserve.
