Poker's Biggest Personalities Honoured at British Poker Awards

Tuesday, 18 February 2014

One of the criticisms made about modern poker is that the games lack big personalities. That seems a bit ridiculous given the candidates up for the Poker Personality of the Year Award at next month's British Poker Awards.

Last year's winner Liv Boeree is once again one of the nominees but the recent UKIPT Edinburgh runner-up will face some stiff competition from a quartet of big hitters.

Joining Liv amongst the final five are the talkative and natty dressing Sam Grafton, triple crown winner Jake Cody, actor turned poker player and Asian poker winning machine Sam Razavi and last but not least, Neil Channing.

“Big personalities are what helped poker gain the popularity it has today, and all it is important to recognise some of the most entertaining players on the circuit,” said Michael Caselli, editor-in-chief of Bluff Europe Magazine.

“There are few players who wouldn’t enjoy sitting at a poker table with any one of our five nominees. All of them add to the atmosphere in every tournament they play.”

The British Poker Awards will takes place on Monday 3rd March at the Hippodrome Casino in London. Tickets are on sale now.
