Poker players set for reality TV appearance

Annie Duke may well have some competition for the most noted poker player to appear on a reality TV show. It’s been confirmed that The Amazing Race (which airs in the UK on Challenge and LivingTV) will feature two professional poker players.

Producer CBS wouldn’t confirm the identities of the players concerned but they are thought to be Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle. A photo of Ho being filmed at the start of one of the races appeared on a reality TV message board.

Michelle, who mysteriously didn’t appear at this year’s World Series Of Poker Main Event wrote on her blog “It’d have to be something pretty big to deter me from the WSOP Championship Event this year and trust me, it is! I can’t disclose much right now but I’ll be leaving to film a project for a month and it conflicts with the Main Event. This project and my part are very huge and it’s an opportunity that is just too good to pass up. At the end of the day, acting and performing have always been my passion, in fact it’s how I fell into poker to begin with and I never want to lose sight of that part of my life and career.”

The show, which sees teams compete challenges and tasks in a series of exotic locations airs later this year.
