Poker inspired art exhibition at Courtald Gallery

Thursday, 11 November 2010

If, like John Juanda, you like your art as much as you enjoy poker, then a trip to the Courtald Gallery is a must for a rare exhibition featuring Paul Cezanne's card playing inspired paintings.

The London gallery is exhibiting a selection of Cezanne's iconic works featuring peasant card players. It is a rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of Cezanne's masterpiece, The Card Players, which is usually housed in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The timeless paintings feature a selection of poses that will be familiar to anyone who has sat round a card table and according to the art critic at The Independent they represent "The winning hand of a great master... To say that the whole is stunning is an understatement ..."

Tickets are priced at £7. More information is available at The Courtald Gallery.
