In between walking the red carpets, celebrities are reportedly being invited to a charity poker tournament to take place in Cannes at the same time as the annual film festival.
10 celebrities will sit down and play at what organisers are billing the “Game of the Century” for a chance to win as much as $60 million for the charity of their choice. At least $1 million will be given away to charity during the poker event which will mark 60 years of the Cannes Film Festival.
The $60 million will be given away if one of the players hits a royal flush in hearts, a feat as rare as being struck by lightning, but still entirely possible.
Producers will apparently film the event using eight cameras for TV broadcast and sale and a DVD of the event will be available for Christmas, 2007.
The names of the poker-playing participants are expected to be announced before the end of this year.
