If you’re looking to spend every weekend of the rest of 2006 sitting in front of the TV watching poker, then FOX have got just the thing for you. Over 34 weeks, the network will be broadcasting the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament 3, which was filmed at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas at the end of last year.
With a prize pool of $1.7 million and knockout rounds that seemingly go on forever, it’s a wonder that FOX isn’t offering a seat at this year’s tournament to the person who watches every episode.
Basically, the aim is to take a $50,000 buy-in and beat off competition at five tables of six players to win points and advance to freeze out tournaments. By the end of it all, two players go head-to-head for a chance to win the $400,000 first prize. Players included Jennifer Tilly, Ted Forrest, Chris Ferguson, Barry Greenstein and Mimi Tran. The show will be aired on Sundays at 8pm local time. Just be certain that you’ve got the stamina before committing yourself to watch the entire thing.
