Poker players who can’t quite wait for the World Series in the summer will have their thirst quenched somewhat when the Wynn Poker Classic kicks off in Las Vegas this week.
The 19-day festival kicks off at the Wynn Casino on Wednesday February 21, finishing on March 11.
Buy-ins for the series range from $500 to $10,000 for Limit and No Limit Hold’em tournaments, with a $1,000 No Limit Omaha eight-or-better event and a $1,000 mixed (Hold’em, Omaha, Stud) event. Qualifiers start on Wednesday and will run through to March 7, with the main event super-satellite.
“We’re excited about the Wynn Classic,” said Tournament Director Dave Eglseder. “Hotel executives and staff have gone all out to make this a first-class experience for players.”
The obvious highlight of the series is the $10,000 entry No Limit Hold’em tournament, taking place over the last 4 days of the festival.
