For those who follow the progress of gaming technology when not concerning themselves with how much money they’re winning online, there’s some good news. An Australian technology firm have just developed a 3G poker application that will allow players using their mobile phones to play one another.
SMS Technology Australia PTY Ltd say that there Multiplayer Mobile Poker Application is able to distinguish which country it is in and therefore work out whether mobile gambling is legal or not, and where it isn’t, players can take each other on in free tourneys. Where gambling is legal, poker aficionados can play for cash.
The company are hoping that online casinos will take their technology aboard and use it to reach a wider audience. Whether this takes off remains to be seen, but for those who do want to get going it’s probably going to be so addictive that any chance of using your phone for calls is likely to disappear. Which is possibly a good thing...
