Poker After Dark is returning with Season 3, with the first episode airing in the US on 1st January. The show, which features a six-handed $20,000 buy in Sit and Go, has become somewhat popular, most likely as it features all of the hands played, and not a heavily edited summary of proceedings. One of the main attractions to the show will not be returning in 2008.
Shana Hiatt has been replaced on the show by Marianela Pereyra, an Argentinean-born beauty, who has experience both as an interviewer and as eye candy, having graced the pages of both Maxim and Billboard magazines. She caught the eye of producers this year after she worked as a sideline reporter for the Pay per View coverage of this year’s WSOP Main Event.
In the premiere week of the third season, viewers will literally ‘see the Light’, as amateur player Ken Light will take on Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Jennifer Harman, Mike Matusow and Scotty Nguyen. That’s a shoe in if ever we’ve seen one! Light won his chance to play at the ‘dream table’ by winning a seat through a massive online tournament, outlasting 1394 others for his chance to win $120,000.
