Play the GUKPT on the cheap thanks to Blue Square Poker

Blue Square Poker, the online poker room sponsoring the successful Grosvenor UK Poker Tour tournament series, is offering players a cheaper way to compete in some of Britain’s best regular poker tournaments by exchanging loyalty points.

Their Knockout loyalty scheme is available to the VIP levels of cruiserweight, heavyweight and super-heavyweight (that’s like PlatinumStar, Supernova and Supernova Elite for those who only speak PokerStars). Each player level accrues KO points by playing raked pots and paying tournament entry fees; the benefits and discounts at the GUKPT vary according to the player’s level.

For example, the Cruiserweight level can exchange in 11,000 KO points to enter £55 GUKPT Main Event super-satellites for £45. However, grind out a little more profit (and thus a little more rake) and you will see the immediate benefits.

The Heavyweight level players can buy-in directly to £330 GUKPT side events for just £265 by exchanging 34,000 KO points; the Super-Heavyweights get entered into the £1,050 Main Events for just £850 after redeeming 82,000 KO points.

Your winnings are split 70/30 with Blue Square but depending on your finishing position (top three, final table, cash) a portion of their cut is re-invested in future GUKPT sponsorship – so one big score could see you freerolling on the GUKPT for quite some time.
