Phil Ivey tops all-time money list in Aussie Millions
Tuesday, 26 January 2010
Phil Ivey has finished as runner-up in the $100,000 event at the 2010 Aussie Millions, not only earning a cool $600,000 AUD but also putting him at the top of the all-time tournament money list.
Previously, Daniel Negreanu had Ivey beaten by a little under a quarter of a million dollars. However, Phil’s win is worth $542,000 in USD – he now tops the all-time tournament money list with a total of $12,802,783.
Ivey lost out to Dan Shak as the two of them got it in with Ivey’s ATs dominating Shak’s A7s. However, a Q75 flop left Ivey needing some serious help; help he didn’t get as a ragged turn and river sealed the tournament for Shak.
Shak won $1,200,000 AUD for his victory but Ivey can take some comfort in being the most successful poker tournament player of all time. That is, until Negreanu makes a $400,000 cash somewhere down the line…
