Phil Ivey through to Day 4 of WPT Bellagio Cup IV

Phil Ivey through to Day 4 of WPT Bellagio Cup IV

Thursday, 15 July 2010

The WPT $15,000 Bellagio Cup IV championship is currently running, but a clash with a certain other five-figure tournament has unsurprisingly taken some of the coverage away.

That should be solved – with late registration available right up until Day 3’s conclusion the field was boosted to 353 and we got some notable names.

Daniel Negreanu, Jon Hennigan, Erik Seidel and Phil Ivey all sat down late during Day 3 for a starting stack of 20BBs. Ivey wasted no time getting his in the middle, losing with 99 v TT but fortunately chopping the pot. Ivey kept doubling and wound up finishing in eighth out of 32 remaining players, looking for his mind-boggling tenth WPT championship final table.

Current chip leader is New Jersey resident Eric Panayiotou who managed to get himself over 1.3m chips, most of which were accrued when he knocked out Men Nguyen and David Baker in one hand holding KK.
