Phil Ivey Set to Sell Medical Marijuana

Monday, 3 November 2014

Phil Ivey is one of the first preliminary Las Vegas residents to be given a conditional licence to distribute medical marijuana in the city according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Following Nevada's decision to legalise the growth and distribution of medical marijuana, City Council members in Las Vegas approved 26 dispensaries, of which Ivey's was one, last week.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, 50 businesses were reviewed and 26 were given preliminary approval.

However, before Phil Ivey's weed empire is given the green light, he will have to cross a few more regulatory bridges until he finds his pot of gold. At present the number of approvals granted by Vegas City Council is double the amount allocated by the state of Nevada. This means that many of those who've been given first-round approval are likely to be eliminated from the running as the application process moves forward.
