Phil Hellmuth – Entertaining as Ever

Phil Hellmuth – Entertaining as Ever

Tuesday, 29 September 2009

Eleven-time World Series of Poker bracelet-winner Phil Hellmuth has posted a twitvid (appropriately named, but unfortunately that’s just the name of videos on Twitter and not a portrayal of the Poker Brat) detailing his arrival in London and a brief chat with Mike Matusow and Men “The Master” Nguyen.

Hellmuth begins the video with a tour of Leicester Square, noting that the Empire casino doesn’t look out of place (thanks for that, Phil) and that the Square is the home of many historical figures, artists and “stuff like that”.

When Hellmuth finds Men and Mike talking, the video begins truly as Hellmuth calls Nguyen “the Vietnamese Godfather of Poker” and states that the Hall of Fame nominee will certainly be ordained into the hallowed ranks of poker legends within the next two or three years.

Mike Matusow then, surprisingly, has something to say - “I’m not upset,” Matusow argues to an accusation that he’s petulant at being passed up for the Americas Caesars Cup team. “I can’t get upset over a fucking farce. When a 20 year-old is the captain of the European team and a 21 year-old Canadian is captain of an American team, why should I be upset?”

I’m sure Matusow is aware of Negreanu actually being 35, but the only man in his early twenties that the Full Tilt PRO had to be worried about was Tom “durrrr” Dwan after Matusow’s foray into the Million Dollar Cash Game.

“It was without a doubt the toughest lineup I have ever played,” Matusow confessed. “I definitely brought my A+ game, not only because of the difficult table, but because no one would talk to me!” The Mouth apparently left the game with a $105,000 profit.
