Peter Lindstrom has won the first edition of the Everest Poker European Championship (EPEC) held in Barcelona on 9 September.
During an exciting finale, 100 competitors pitted country against country to become this year's Everest Poker European Champion.
The players beat over 20,000 participants in live and online competitions running across Europe since March. They each won a chance to represent their country at the championship and received a €900 prize package including travel expenses to Barcelona. The winner of the first ever edition of the EPEC shared the €50,000 prize pool with the other top 17 players from Germany, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Italy and Sweden.
'I'm thrilled to have taken part in such an enjoyable and gripping event,' said winner Lindstrom who plays poker twice a week at a local poker club in Wirsbo, Sweden. 'Everest Poker provided me with coaching and supported me throughout the qualifier tournament, allowing me to excel in the final against some tough competition. It was a great experience and I look forward to taking part in other live and online Everest Poker tournaments.”
