Peter Eastgate vs Aaron Gustavson Heads-Up EPT London

Peter Eastgate vs Aaron Gustavson Heads-Up EPT London

Wednesday, 7 October 2009

WSOP 2008 Main Event winner Peter Eastgate has reached heads-up in the EPT London Main Event. His opponent, American online qualifier Aaron Gustavson, has a 2:1 chip lead over Eastgate and will be looking to claim his first major tournament title.

Gustavson, who plays mainly online at PokerStars, took down the Sunday Warm-up on the site earlier this year for a $135,000 payday. He has had the chiplead since the final table began earlier today, starting with over twice the amount of his nearest opponent - Peter Eastgate.

Although the chip stacks talk for themselves, Eastgate will no doubt have an edge during heads-up play due to his experience on the big stage. He is no stranger to the televised final-table-arena and will be hoping that this plays out to his advantage. However, Aaron Gustavson has shown no signs of nerves or pressure thus far and has been using his vast chipstack to bully his other opponents, throughout today's final table.

Heads-up play resumes after the dinner break, where the winner will claim a hefty £850,000.

Final table finishers:

3rd: Nikolai Senninger - £285,000
4th: Martin Gudvangen - £227,000
5th: Dominic Cullen - £173,000
6th: Rui Milhomen - £124,000
7th: Raymond Wu - £87,000
8th: Karim Benanni - £50,100
