Paul Nash leads after UKIPT Manchester opening flight

Friday, 11 March 2011

248 players gathered at the G Casino for the first of three opening day flights at UKIPT Manchester yesterday and by the close of play just 65 were left with midlander Paul Nash leading the way.

Nash finished with a stack of 168,000, comfortably clear of nearest rivals Richard Haile on 143,300 and Andrew Laurie with 126,200. A number of big names took to the felt yesterday but enjoyed only limited success. Among the high profile bust outs were EPT London winner David Vamplew, WSOP bracelet winner Steve Jelinek and last year's UKIPT Leader Board winner Chris Brammer.

The opening day action continues today with the second opening day flight starting at noon with a third, overlapping flight, following at 6pm. A good selection of PokerStars pros are expected to be in attendance including the likes of Liv Boeree, JP Kelly and Jude Ainsworth.
