Paul Foltyn wins second GUKPT title at Brighton

Monday, 11 October 2010

The GUKPT returned to the poker scene last weekend and opened the tables up in Brighton for a £1,070 event that promised a strong home defence - the likes of Chris "moorman1" Moorman and James "Flushy" Dempsey hail from the seaside city.

In the end, it was an established online pro who took the honours as Paul Foltyn picked up £46,400 to go with his second GUKPT title after winning the 2008 GUKPT Grand Final. He defeated Jose Azorin heads-up to take down the event and the biggest chunk of the prize pool.

The final table placings and payouts were as follows:

1st Paul Foltyn £46,400
2nd Jose Azorin 32,400
3rd Paul Romain £20,400
4th Mark James £12,400
5th John Eames £9,600
6th Damian Evans £7,600
7th Jenyue Chaing £6,000
8th Manuel Palanca £4,400
9th Michalis Michael £3,200
10th Lee Taylor £2,800

Next in line for the GUKPT is the Blackpool stop from November 6-14 with the Main Event (£1,070 buy-in) beginning on November 11 with two starting days. Qualifiers are up and running at GCasino.com.
