Pat Walsh wins ESPN Bounty Shootout

Pat Walsh wins ESPN Bounty Shootout

Monday, 14 March 2011

There were plenty of stories at the ESPN Bounty Shootout final table at The Bike, LA, this weekend after Big Event champion Victor Ramdin, Jonathan Duhamel and NAPT 2010 champion Joe Tehan all made it to the final table of nine.

However, it was Pat Walsh who stood alone with all the chips – and the joint-most bounties – at the end of play and walks away with prizes totalling $241,700 including $26,000 in bounties, $40,000 for winning his first table and $171,700 for defeating the final.

Walsh beat Ali Eslami heads-up to take his last bounty of the tournament and chop the $20,000 bonus with three other players for most bounties. Walsh check-raised all-in on a 9d-8d-5h board and Eslami snapped him off with Jd-7d for a gutshot and flush draw. Walsh’s 9h-3c held up over two streets, however, and despite winning the event he must be gutted that he has to pose for the celebration pictures with a nine-three offsuit.

The full final table payouts, taking into account bounties and the first table win, are as follows:

1.Pat Walsh - $241,700
2.Ali Eslami $56,000
3.Alex Keating $62,000
4.Joe Tehan $56,000
5.John Smith $58,000
6.Jonathan Duhamel $58,000
7.Matt Woodward $42,000
8.Shane Schleger $46,000
9.Victor Ramdin $48,000
