PartyPoker player uses Player Points to pay for his honeymoon

Weddings are very expensive occassions and after all the flowers, food and string quartets there’s often not much change left for the honeymoon. One PartyPoker player has found a novel solution to this financial quandary by using his hard won PartyPoints to pay for his honeymoon.

Toronto’s Greg Scharkov logged enough hours at the PartyPoker tables to qualify for membership to their Palladium Lounge VIP Programme. Rather than spending his points on tournament entries or other assorted goodies from the PartyPoker store he spotted a holiday to St Lucia that was available for 55,000 points.

The 35-year-old Canadian decided that a trip to the Caribbean would be the perfect way for him and his new wife Rachel to spend their first few weeks of married life together. Going on honeymoon courtesy of a poker room seems especially appropriate given that the couple met at a local card room 8 years ago.

The delighted groom said “I was looking at how I could use my loyalty points one day and by fluke came across the holiday while looking at the store online. It is fantastic to be able to use my points for something as important and expensive as my honeymoon. We had a great time, the holiday was top draw.”

PartyPoker seems to be the website of choice as far as romance and poker is concerned. In 2006 a couple who met on the PartyPoker tables tied the knot with a Party spokesman acting as their witness.
