PartyPoker has made one German player extremely happy to have seen his quads beaten by a royal flush.

PRAETORIANER flopped quad tens but a jack of spades on the river gave his opponent rol007 the royal flush and the $609.50 pot at the $2/$4 table. PRAETORIANER's despair at losing what seemed like a nailed on win soon turned to delight when he realised that his ill fortune had earned him a massive bonus payout. All told the German took $479,101. rol007 also benefited to the tune of $239,550 with the other seven players at the table each earning $34,221.

“After the river I realized my opponent might have a better hand. I went all-in, he called right away and then everything happened really fast. The message appeared on the screen, I opened my account and had almost $500 000. Indescribable! I was shocked at first. Then started jumping around. I was extremely happy.”

“I love playing at the jackpot tables, because it is a little like playing the lottery. If you play at higher stakes, the expected value is higher. I will continue playing on these tables from now on.”

The new Bad Beat Jackpot has been reset at $200,000. To be in with a chance of winning it sign up for an account at PartyPoker.com.
