Party Poker changes play money policies.

Party Poker changes play money policies.

Wednesday, 3 February 2010

It’s not often you hear news about play money poker, but there’s a first time for everything. After PartyPoker took over the World Poker Tour, signed Kara Scott and Tony G, they have worked on something just as important. Honest.

They had this to say about their change in play money policies: “We recently implemented a new policy that restricts play money accounts to a maximum number of chips. This decision has the vast majority of our play money players in mind, and is intended to stop the transferring of chips from account-to-account outside of regular hands of poker... Although this may have affected some play money players in the short term, the decision was made in the interest of our play money games and the fair play benefits it will bring. We will not reverse our decision.”

Apparently, players would raise billions of play chips then sell them. For example, people were paying $400 for 1,000,000,000 play chips on ChipEmpire.com. Bluff Europe doesn’t understand why people would pay $400 for absolutely nothing, but there you go. You can’t do it anymore. So there.
