Party Poker adds backing to charity football match

35 lucky Party Poker players have won packages to join some of the world’s top footballers at a charity football match in Italy next week. The game, which is sponsored by Party Poker, will see two star-studded line ups compete for the Idolo Cup and will help in the fight against racism in Italian football.

The European XI, managed by Italian national team manager Marcello Lippi and Torino boss Mario Beretta, will be led by Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini and former European Footballer of the Year Pavel Nedved. Joining the former Ballon D’O’r winner will be John Carew, Nicolas Anelka and Patrice Evra amongst others.


Stoke City’s Tony Pulis will take charge of the African All Star XI, with Salif Diao and Chelsea’s Didier Drogba sharing the captaincy duties. A host of top Premier League talent is set to join them including Emmanuel Adebayor, Kole Toure, Wilson Palacios, Pascal Chimbouda, Jon Obi Mikel, Salomon Kalou and El Hadji Diouf. Zinedine Zidane is also set to make a guest appearance.


The match takes place on Monday 21st December at 7.30pm UK time.
