Party Poker Expands Pro Team

Monday, 29 June 2009

After steering clear of sponsored pros for years, Party Poker has now signed three players in a week. Brazilian Felipe Ramos and Frenchman Remy Biechel will join Ian Frazer as members of Team Party Poker.

Ramos is one of the hottest names in Latin American poker with earnings of over $700,000 since turning pro in January 2008. He has also performed well at this year’s WSOP finishing sixth in the $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha event for a cash of $67,635.

Biechel, a regular at legendary Parisian venue the Aviation Club has career winnings topping $800,000. His best performance to date was a first place finish in the €5,000 side event at this year’s EPT Grand Final at Monte Carlo.

Commenting on the deal Biechel said “Poker is now big news in France and I turned down several offers from sponsors because I wanted to find a room that I felt comfortable with, that shared the same values. Party Poker is one of the original players in the online poker world and I felt from the word ‘go’ that they wanted to set up a sound partnership.”

Party Poker has hinted that there are more additions to be made to the Team Poker Pro ranks.
